Homer's tweed furniture

Our Homer exclusive tweeds are designed in-house and woven at Glen Lyon tweedmill, just minutes from our door in Aberfeldy, made with 100 % Cheviot wool from  the Scottish Borders.   We now have over twelve different tweeds offering a wide range of colour choice and pattern.

The chairs, sofas and footstools in this range are made by a family furniture firm down South.  For our Homer furniture, they use an Indonesian hardwood.  The finish is left unpolished and natural, The first thing our customers do, is to stroke the arms - they're very tactile!

We keep a large number of pieces in both our stores, to keep up with demand.  If we are temporarily out of stock we order in, with an average wait-time of 3 to 4 weeks.  Delivery can be arranged anywhere in the UK - very often achievable for just £45 - predictably, Highlands and Islands carry a surcharge (sorry)..

Lorna, our young designer, studied textiles at college and has worked with tweed ever since.  Now, as part of our Homer team, she brings her creativity and know-how, to help us widen Homer's range of exclusive, Scottish textiles.

The design process, choosing colour ways...

Our fabric being woven on Glen Lyon Tweedmill's faithful old looms!

We have chairs, sofas and footstools upholstered in our exclusive tweeds and, if you need extra tweed to make cushions, you can buy at £57 per metre (145 cm width).

Our chairs start from £350 and we have a range of sizes and style options.  You can also order customised stools, footstools, benches and settles  .  Given the traditional weaving and 'finishing' processes there is a long lead time on 'repeat' weaves, so we strongly advise you to visit us or get in contact as soon as you've reached a decision.
