Our Tweed on Beautiful Chairs
Our Homer exclusive tweeds are designed in-house and woven at Glen Lyon tweedmill, just minutes from our door in Aberfeldy, made with 100 % wool from Cheviot sheep in the Scottish Borders. Such was the success of our first tweed, we went on to commission five more!
The chairs, sofas and footstools in this range are made up down South in Nottinghamshire, by a family furniture firm of longstanding. For our Homer furniture, they use natural Meh wood, from Indonesia, unpolished and unvarnished to give a matt, velvety smooth finish.
We keep a large number of pieces in both our stores, to keep up with demand. If we are temporarily out of stock we order in, with an average wait-time of 3 weeks.
Meet the designer...
Lorna, our young designer, studied textiles at college and has worked with tweed ever since. Now, as part of our Homer team, she brings her creativity and know-how, to help us widen Homer's range of exclusive, Scottish textiles.
The design process, choosing colour ways...
Our fabric being woven on Glen Lyon Tweedmill's faithful old looms!
We have chairs, sofas and footstools upholstered in our exclusive tweeds and you can (sometimes) buy by the metre.
The chairs sell at £495, the sofas at £750. Our local tweed mill weaves two bolts (sixty metres) of each design/colourway. Therefore, each range is a limited run.
